Kendrick Lamar made his live television debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon with a performance of “Swimming Pools (Drank)”, an agreeably darker cut off his forthcoming major label debut, good kid, m.A.A.d. city. With support from The Roots — seriously, who can forget ?uestlove’s devilish harmonies? — Lamar prowled about the stage as if he had this sharp, aching chip on his shoulder. Coupled with that eerie Theremin sample, which just has to be from an old Ed Wood film, the whole performance felt very October. Replay it at your own risk below.
