It’s not every day that a Hollywood starlet appears in an indie band’s music video, but that’s the case for Wild Nothing’s “Paradise”, which stars Michelle Williams (Dawson’s Creek, Brokeback Mountain). The clip begins with Williams narrating an excerpt from Iris Murdoch’s 1975 novel A Word Child, and from there she travels to eye-friendly locales like Los Angeles and Niagara Falls in search of her own version of paradise. Granted, she’s a professional, but it’s Williams’ especially moving and elegant performance that elevates the video to absolute emotional harmony. Watch it below.
The band’s sophomore LP, Nocturne, is out now via Captured Tracks.
