New Music: Nicolas Jaar & Theater Roosevelt The Ego

On the craziest, most ludicrous shopping day of the year in America, Nicolas Jaar dropped a free, slick, dubby track on his label’s Clown and Sunset Soundcloud. “The Ego” features Jaar’s nocturnal electronic work underneath a monologue from a voice known as Theater Roosevelt, or “Teddy’s ghost”. The deep voice culls together what appear to be soundbites from the 2012 Election in a thick Jamaican accent, which is probably the most fun you’ll ever have while hearing the words “a-let Detroit go bankrupt.” Check out the track below.

Previously, Jaar teamed up with Steven Spielberg’s daughter Sasha for different kind of dark collaboration with a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Avalanche”.
