Rage Against the Machine celebrates the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut with Rage Against the Machine – XX, a deluxe box set that compiles early concert footage, their original demo tape, and recent footage from their June 2010 show in Finsbury Park, UK. This morning, Rolling Stone points to another demo, and it’s of the album’s closing track, ”Freedom”, which admittedly doesn’t stray too far from the original. Well, that’s not true exactly. The wailing Braveheart-stripped screams of “Freedom!” at the end sound far more juvenile than the original’s distorted cries — sort of funny. Hear it for yourself below.
Update: Also check out a demo of “Mindset’s a Threat” (via SPIN)
