Most of us were probably hoping that The Rolling Stones would make a pit stop at Rockefeller Center in between their anniversary concerts. But Saturday Night Live has instead booked another UK legend to play its Christmas episode on December 15th: Sir Paul McCartney. Martin Short will serve as host that night.

McCartney last appeared on the show in December 2010, where he performed five songs and appeared in several sketches. Watch his performance of “Jet” plus a classic clip featuring him and Chris Farley below.

I’m so excited to know that Paul McCartney is going to be the musical guest on the SNL Christmas episode! It’ll be nice to see him again. It’s too bad that I’ll have to work late at DISH the night he performs. I’ll still be able to see it in the morning though since I set my DISH Hopper to record the entire season. It’s nice that I can have an entire season on my DVR with more than enough room for recording my other shows. I also can’t wait to see Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo on December 8th!
