Today, on what would have been his 70th birthday, engineer and producer Eddie Kramer offers a preview of the first single off Jimi Hendrix’s new posthumous album, People, Hell and Angels (via RollingStone.com). Recorded shortly before his death around 1968-1969, “Somewhere” finds the guitar legend doing his thing, alongside a supporting cast of Stephen Stills and drummer Buddy Miles. As Kramer explains of the song, “[it's] a fantastic example of Jimi’s amazing control of the wah-wah [pedal] the tone of the wah-wah – how that affects the whole song.”
People, Hell and Angels is due out March 5th.
