Metric could have really taken the literal route in their music video for “Breathing Underwater”. Though without the risk of cribbing Ween’s “Ocean Man”, the Canadian, Emily Haines-led outfit went with the tried and true “life on the road” concept, documenting their endless travels and high-energy live show. Still, maybe rocking out on stage and swimming aren’t too different: both place individuals in this mesmerizing, otherworldly dimension that some never want to leave, and after a few minutes, utterly drained and breathless, they come back to the real world with the hopes of returning ASAP. The band’s latest album, Synthetica, is out now via their own Metric Music International. Synthetica Deluxe, featuring five acooustic tracks, will be available digitally November 20th and physically December 4th.
