The young guitar wiz Gary Clark Jr. certainly made a name for himself in 2012 with blazing sets at every major music festival and his debut LP Blak and Blu. But he’ll get the ultimate career bump on the evening of December 8th, when he takes the stage alongside The Rolling Stones.
As RollingStone.com reports, Clark and Mary J. Blidge will serve as special guests for The Stones’ 50th anniversary concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Blidge previously joined the band for “Gimme Shelter” during their first show in London last month.
Florence Welch, Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton have also made surprise appearances during the band’s recent concerts. There’s no word yet on who may join the band for their shows in Newark later this month, though Paul McCartney will be in town. Just sayin’.
