Green Day reschedule 2013 tour dates

Green Day have begun to reveal the dates for their rescheduled North American tour. The band was forced to postpone the tour after frontman Billie Joe Armstrong entered rehab for substance abuse treatment.

Armstrong said in a statement: “Dear friends… I just want to thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown for the past few months. Believe me, it hasn’t gone unnoticed and I’m eternally grateful to have such an amazing set of friends and family. I’m getting better everyday. So now, without further ado, the show must go on. We can’t wait to get on the road and live out load! Our passion has only grown stronger.”

The current docket kick off in Chicago on March 28th and concludes in Quebec City on April 12th. So if you had Green Day in your Coachella lineup pool, it looks like you’re down one point.

Tickets for shows that had been postponed will be honored at these new dates.

From what I’ve seen around the internet, they aren’t actually rescheduling the missed concerts. They are just returning to the tour and playing the shows that they had already planned. Which is sad. I have always wanted to see one of their concerts so my mom gave me ticket money for Christmas so I could go to the Vegas show. And now they aren’t playing there. :(

:( I am sad they kept so many dates in Europe. Hopefully they’ll come back around to the US because I was really looking forward to seeing them – haven’t been to one of their shows since 2006.

I hope they aren’t playing Coachella, but, if anything this rescheduling makes it more likely.

I would say this makes them more likely to play coachella. They had a handful of other dates that are now cancelled due to scheduling conflicts

The article also mentions that more west coast dates will be announced in early 2013. I bet it’ll be after the coachella lineup drops

I don’t see how Coachella is ruled out. The dates are open. They could play Sat or Sun.
