Out of the blue, Hot Chip frontman/co-founder Alexis Taylor has released a brand-new EP titled Nayim from the Halfway Line. The four-song EP’s title further reflects Taylor’s love of football, referencing the 1995 Winners’ Cup final in which Real Zaragoza’s Nayim beat Arsenal’s David Seaman from said field position.

In a statement, Taylor described the effort as “self-recorded and self-produced, with a heavy groove based element.” For a sneak peek, check out the introductory video below, which pairs an unidentified song with the titular moment in sports history.

A 12″ version is out now via Domino Records (order your copy here), with a digital download available December 17th.

Nayim from the Halfway Line Tracklist:
01. Rhodes Dream
02. You Want Me
03. Hot Squash
04. Jesus’ Birthday
