On “Young Boys,” experimental folk-pop artist Sindri Már Sigfússon, aka Sin Fang, seems to emerge from a blustery snowstorm with a ghostly choir in tow. But the sing’s dreamlike ambiance should come as no surprise, considering the Icelandic musician (who also happens to be the mastermind behind Seabear) had the help of Sigur Rós and Jónsi producer Alex Somers. From its driving chants of “We were young boys / Smoking in the woods / I showed you how” to the quirky assortment of bleeps and jangling, the track, which is off Sin Fang’s third solo album Flowers, is a tender, yet lush and compelling proclamation.
Sin Fang’s Flowers comes out February 19th via Morr Music.
