The xx celebrate the holidays with a left field cover of Wham’s “Last Christmas”. This morning, the UK outfit stopped by the BBC Radio One Live Lounge, where they performed Coexist single “Chained” and George Michael’s breathy Christmas classic. Jamie xx, Oliver Sim, and Romy Madley Croft make this one of the better Christmas covers, especially through their trade off vocals, romantic synth work, and intimate bass lines. In related news, the band recently stopped by BBC Radio 2 for a stripped down performance, John Talabot remixed “Chained”, and they’ll be hitting the road next month. Always busy these guys.
