If you catch the live show of Miami’s chief metal export Torche, you’ll get head blows of sugary pop metal, and body blows of detuned sludge. They trade in pop and doom; harmony and slaughter. This year’s Harmonicraft skewed more pop (its standout track “Kicking” landed on our Top 50 Songs of the Year), but their new portmanteau single “Harmonslaught” combines Torches’s love for pop and doom in an absolutely brutal bass-laden track. Listen to the harmony of hooks and hell below (via Pitchfork).
The “Harmonslaught” 7-inch, b/w ”Rock N Roll Mantasy” (love those portmanteaus), arrives December 17th via No Idea.
