On the night of December 6th in foggy London town, Kurt Vile and the Violators closed their gig at The Forum with a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”, and one steady-handed fan captured it all on video. Check out the clip just ahead.
In related news, Vile has readied his third album, the follow-up to 2011′s Smoke Ring For My Halo. The potentially double album was written on the road, reunites the band with longtime Dinosaur Jr. producer and Smoke Ring tracker John Agnello, and features guests like Farmer Dave Scher of Beachwood Sparks, Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa, Jennifer Herrema of Royal Trux, and Woods frontman Jeremy Earl. In a interview with Spin, Vile called the album “our [Fleetwood Mac's] Tusk, but no cheese. Just rock.” A release date is set for this spring.
