Wavves release mighty new single, “Sail to the Sun”

Wavves’ Nathan Williams just took to Twitter to share “Sail to the Sun”, the first taste of the band’s fourth LP. “I wanna pick you up in my arms, give you all my love,” he sings plaintively over hallway echoes and a Category 5 hurricane of distortion and noise. This one’s loud and urgent and reeling with energy.

The song is accompanied by a Chris Black and MisterDoctor-directed video, which depicts a priest with some hardcore vices. Listen to the song and watch the video below (via Pitchfork)

As Williams wrote on Twitter: ” Today is a good day. B thankful and tell some1 u love them. Also go to popeyes if u can and b thankful for strawberry soda.”

Wavves’ as-yet-titled album is due this spring via their new label Mom + Pop. It was produced by John Hill (M.I.A., Santigold, Rihanna) and recorded at Sonora Studios in L.A.
