Each week, participants are encouraged to create and upload samples based on themes chosen by Avicii, which he’ll then whittle down to his favorite three and put up for public vote. Once all the winners have been selected, he’ll produce the new track utilizing each of the various components. Dubbed “an electronic journey to remember,” the venture will run through February 13th.
“My main ambition with this project is to create a large, worldwide music collaboration. It will be incredibly cool to create a house piece out of so many talented artists’ different ideas,” said the producer in a press release.
All royalties from the single will benefit the House For Hunger, a domestic hunger-relief charity founded by Avicii and business manager Ash Pourouri.
The project will be documented on camera, with futures videos to be premiered on VEVO.com.
