Long Beach blues rockers Cold War Kids are set to release their fourth studio album, Dear Miss Lonely Hearts, on April 2nd through Downtown Records. Marking the band’s first new material since the release of 2011’s Mine Is Yours, the album was recorded in their California studio with producer Lars Stalfors (The Mars Volta, Matt & Kim). It’s the first release to feature former Modest Mouse member Dann Gallucci, who replaced the Jonathan Russell earlier this year.

In a press release, lead singer Nathan Willett said of the new album: “We were shaken up, ready to let certain songs go further than before by trying new styles and arrangements, while keeping others sparse and caring more about the finished product and less about how we got there.”

The album will be preceded by lead single “Miracle Mile” on March 25th. The track features ragtime piano in the mould of earlier Cold War Kids tracks, with crashing drums and guitar building to a minimalist pop chorus showcasing Willett’s expressive vocals. Listen to a stream below.

Update: The band has also announced tour dates in the U.S., UK, and Europe.
