According to the Saugerties Times, the promoters behind CounterPoint Music Festival have received conditional approval to stage a new version of the festival at Winston Farm in Saugerties, NY, better known as the site of Woodstock ’94.
MCP Presents and C3 Presents held the inaugural CounterPoint in Atlanta last July. The festival featured over 75 artists, many of whom were from the electronic dance music genre, and drew 20,000 attendees.
It’s still undetermined whether CounterPoint will also stage a festival in Atlanta, though MCP President and CEO Jonathan Fordin told Saugerties Times that there are plans for a CounterPoint in the Midwest. What’s more, MCP intend to stage two additional festivals in Saugerties, including a possible season-ending event in October.
Additional approvals are needed before the promoters can move further, and improvements to the festival grounds also must be carried out. However, the festival is currently set to take place July 11th-14th. A lineup announcement and ticketing information will be released shortly.
