Dave Grohl knows where he’s going with the Foo Fighters’ followup to 2011′s CoS Top Star-earning Wasting Light – he’s just a little too busy right now.

While promoting his juggernaut of a vehicle, Sound City, the bearded frontman told MTV News that “…we have a plan, we know exactly what’s coming next, and I have the music for the next record and we’re going to start working on it once we finish doing all this stuff.”

Grohl added that he’s “really excited about it,” which should quell any concerns leftover from the band’s proposed hiatus last fall. Though, don’t expect anything anytime soon, as he joked: “If I give you something now [about a release date], it means I’ll actually have to make that deadline.”

In the meantime, the soundtrack to Sound City hits stores March 12th via Grohl’s own Roswell Records and the film itself surfaces February 1st. Pre-orders for a DRM-free digital version of the film are now ongoing for the “special price” of $10.

I don’t think they will work on Them Crooked Vultures comeback when Queens of the Stone Age is ready with new material. I hope so, I want Foo Fighters back!
