In the first of our exclusive six-part series highlighting 2012’s Le Guess Who? Festival in Utrecht, Holland, we bring you our interview and performance of saxophone noise phenom Colin Stetson. The classically-trained ringer, who has played with Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, TV On The Radio, and many others, talks about wielding his bass saxophone for the first time, and his circular breathing technique that are part and parcel to the real-live loops that he makes in concert.
Hear Stetson perform parts from “The End of Your Suffering” and “Judges”, along with the interview below.
Check back later in the week, where we’ll have an interview and performance from Dutch garage rockers Traumahelikopter.
