Yo La Tengo’s new album Fade is streaming in full at Pitchfork. Recorded with John McEntire at Chicago’s Soma Studios, the 10-track effort recalls the band’s past works, specifically 1997’s I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One and 2000’s And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out, focusing on themes of aging, tragedy, and emotional bonds. The album officially hits stores January 15th through Matador Records, and you can pre-order your copy here.
Philadelphia indie rockers Free Energy’s new album Love Sign is streaming in full below (via RollingStone.com). Speaking to us earlier this year, frontman Paul Sprangers described the music as earnest, simple rock ‘n’ roll, adding, “Everything is much more clear and amplified. The rock songs are dumber and bigger. Like, fuck it, we have nothing to lose. If it’s going to be big and dumb, it should be the biggest and dumbest it ever could be.” The album officially hits stores on January 15th via the band’s own imprint Free People, and you can pre-order your copy here.
