Last year, Jack White’s Third Man Records announced a partnership with historically-minded blues imprint Document Records, which included plans to remaster and reissue the label’s iconic material on vinyl.

Due out January 29th, the first three releases collect the catalogs of Charley Patton, Blind Willie McTell, and The Mississippi Sheiks dating back to the late 1920s, early 1930s. Document Records’ Gary Atkinson remastered the material, Grammy-winning designer Rob Jones created unique cover art, and journalist Mick Middles contributed new linear notes for each record.

Pre-orders for these records are on going at Third Man Records’ online store and, according to a press release, these “bulding blocks and DNA of American culture” will remain available as long as Third Man Records is in business. Third Man also has plans for limited edition colored vinyl pressings (yellow, red, and orange, respectively). A trailer for the reissues can be seen below.

Additional reissues will be announced in the coming months.
