Video: Ryan Hemsworth – “Colour and Movement”

Halifax electronic producer Ryan Hemsworth turned heads last year with his eclectic Last Words EP and array of remixes. Now, he returns with a supporting video for “Colour and Movement”. Directed by Yoni Lappin, the tranquil beatbox cut gets a scrapbook of Lena Dunham-inspired visuals, or something out of Tavi Gevinson’s Rookie website. It’s all sensual and moody, but the real “a ha!” moment arrives when Hemsworth throws in a murky sample of Elliott Smith’s “Everything Means Nothing to Me”, which just really hits home. Watch it below.

If that weren’t enough, he’s also issued new track ”BasedWorld”. M83 fans should take note, as it’s pretty much a reworked, amplified rendition of “Moonchild” off 2005′s Before the Dawn Heals Us. Stream it now.
