Last month’s maiden voyage of the S.S. Coachella not only featured ship-shakin’ performances from Pulp, Hot Chip, and Yeasayer, but karaoke quickly became a staple of both musical cruises through the Bahamas. And the man who secured his place as capitan of the cover song was none other than Josh Tillman, aka Father John Misty, who could’ve easily sunk the boat with his rendition of R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly”.

Tillman, with Har Mar Superstar singing back-up, brought the sweeping Space Jam track to new heights, due in no small part to him randomly grinding up on unsuspecting guests. We don’t know if this counts as a sea shanty, but it’s now on our list of tunes to tackle the next time you’re smashed in the middle of the Atlantic.
