The-Band-Who-Must-Not-Be-Googled, !!! (Chk Chk Chk), have offered up a first listen of their forthcoming, Jim Eno-produced album, THR!!!ER. Now, given that the band insinuated this album would be their “high-watermark”, it’s hard to gauge how indicative “Slyd” really is — and for two reasons.
For starters, it’s one of the few tracks that wasn’t handled by Eno, and what’s more, it’s comprised more or less of samples. Well, sort of; the band wanted to craft an ode to classic club-floor tunes, so they built their own “samples”, enlisted singers Teresa Eggers and Molly Schnick to add vocals, and stacked everything on top of each other to form one consistent booty-shaker.
Take a listen to the song below, and snag yourself a download at !!!’s website. Then check out the band’s upcoming tour docket, which sees them hit Noise Pop in San Francisco later this month and the TV on the Radio-curated ATP Festival in May.
THR!!!ER is due April 30th on Warp Records, and you can pre-order it through Bleep.
