In today’s most unsurprising news, Jack White is already hard at work on his second solo album. He recently told BBC 6 Music News, “I’m writing a lot of songs for another record… I have over 20 tracks I’m working on right now.”
White’s debut solo album, Blunderbuss, hit stores last April. Since then, he’s toured relentlessly; recorded and produced a number of acts, including Radiohead, Beck, The Black Lips, and most recently, Butthole Surfers’ Gibby Haynes; and reissued early recordings from blues imprint Document Records through his own Third Man Records. In fact, the only thing he hasn’t had time for was the soundtrack to The Lone Ranger — which is probably a good thing based on the film’s early trailer.
To top it all off, Jack will perform this weekend at the Grammy Awards, where he’s nominated for Album of the Year and Best Rock Album. Prepare yourself by watching his performance of “Blunderbuss” on Austin City Limits below.
