Guess Morrissey’s not the only one under the weather: punk supergroup OFF! have canceled their entire West Coast tour. After axing last night’s show in San Diego, the band announced today, “Sadly, we have to cancel our west coast tour due to illness. Refunds are available at point of purchase. Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to performing in these cities in the near future.” The cancellation affects a total of nine dates, including shows in San Francisco, Portland, and Denver.
The band didn’t specify which band member was ill, though frontman Keith Morris recently told Rolling Stone that he’s recovering from a diabetic coma suffered following last month’s Big Day Out in Australia:
“I’m in kind of a weird scenario right now, because I got back last Tuesday and I’m a diabetic and I failed to eat lunch. Came back, hung out with my girlfriend, and the whole idea was that we were going to do what grown-ups do — go take a nap and go get something to eat. It should have been reversed — I should have eaten first. So we did what we did, and I passed out. As I passed out, I actually blacked out and went into a diabetic-induced coma. So I’m kind of like the T-shirt that’s been sitting in the dryer for three days.”
Stay tuned for more on rescheduled dates as they’re announced. If worst comes to worst, you can always check out Morris this Spring when he performs with the Black Flag spinoff group FLAG.
