With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Vogue has commissioned a series of short films entitled “Love Songs”, where artists perform some of their more romantic numbers. The latest act to wear their heart on a sleeve is Natasha Khan of Bat for Lashes, who re-tools The Haunted Man gem “Marilyn”. Decked out in a shiny gold dress, Khan strips the track down to some reverb and minimal percussion, which adds layers of subtext to her deeply forlorn vocals. Watch the replay below.
The Haunted Man is out now via Parlophone. For more from the “Love Songs” series, watch Widowspeak perform “Thick As Thieves” here.
