Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler are currently holed up in Los Angeles, recording their new album 13 alongside producer Rick Rubin and Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk. Today, the band offered a sneak peek into the recording process with a behind-the-scenes trailer, which is embedded below. Watch as Iommi and Butler discuss their triumphant return, get a preview of Wilk behind the kit, and marvel as Ozzy methodically drinks tea!

13, the band’s first album to feature its original lineup since 1978, will arrive in June via Vertigo/Republic. In support, the metal lords will be on tour in the U.S. in July and August. Stay tuned for actual dates as soon as they’re announced.

i kinda hope i don’t agree with Johnny Starzz where the sabbath album is concerned, but my gut feeling is he may be right. Ozzy states he wants the album to sound current but with a sabbath vibe…. no no no mr osbourne. we want SABBATH as you were back then.
if you guys can’t produce an album like that, then we don’t want one!

We can tune in to any new band any time we want to.
Fingers crossed for a sabbath album with a sabbath sound and a sabbath feel.

How could they possibly have anything left to say? Its over and has been for years. Enjoy the past music for what it was. Haven’t listened to any of these older bands new music and been impressed with anything. Van Halens latest had only one good song on it. Others lately haven’t faired any better. If you don’t believe me, check album/cd sales. I kept all my old albums/cds and thats all there is. No more decent music left. Todays music is absolute garbage.

“the band’s first album to feature its original lineup since 1978″ should be “the band’s first studio album to feature three of four original members since 1978″
