My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James brought his bearded blend of gospel folk last night to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. In support of his solo debut, Regions of Light and Sound of God, the Kentucky king performed “A New Life” alongside The Roots. So, if you’re looking for that Louisville-Philadelphia sound everyone’s been chatting up, then look no further than below.
FYI: James will return for Tuesday night’s taping, where he’ll be sitting in as the show’s guest performer. In the meantime, don’t miss our latest cover story, Jim James: Build It Up Strong, in which our own Ben Kaye profiles the songwriter and discusses his roots, his brand of spiritualism, and the influences that laid the groundwork for his recent foray.
