You may know Brittany Howard as the front woman of Grammy Award-winning rock band, Alabama Shakes. You may know Ruby Amanfu as the female vocalist on Jack White’s “Love Interruption” and a member of White’s all-female backing band, the Peacocks. Recently, the two women joined forces to record a two-song single, which will be released through White’s Third Man Records on March 12th.

The single’s A-Side is a cover of Rodriguez’s “I Wonder” sung by Amanfu, while the B-Side is a version of “When My Man Comes Home”, originally recorded by Memphis Minnie, and sung by both women. You can stream the latter at SoundCloud.

Howard and Amanfu were joined in the studio by The Buzzards’ Dominic Davis on electric and upright bass, Daru Jones on drums, Cory Younts on piano, Ikey Owens on keys and Hammond B3, and Fats Kaplin on electric guitar, lap steel, and mandolin.
