Apparently penning really long song titles (“The Track I’ve Been Playing That People Keep Asking About And That Joy Used in His RA Mix and Daphni Played on Boiler Room”) and releasing an excellent rarities album (0181) isn’t enough to keep Four Tet busy. Today, the UK-based electronic musician has unveiled a new track called “For These Times”, which he contributed to Think And Change, a compilation featuring Nonplus Records’ former and current artists.
Blending jazzy tones, soulful vocal samples, and über-intense snare effects, “For These Times” is a rumbling, raging house cut that is fixed in overdrive for five straight minutes. Buckle your seatbelt and listen in below.
In related news, Four Tet has remixed Justin Timberlake’s new single, “Suit & Tie”, though the version that’s floating around the web is not yet finished. As he wrote on Twitter, “When people leak stuff of mine, and with bad sound quality, it makes me feel sick… anyone who thinks it’s ok to leak music ahead of the artist or record label can go fuck themselves.” Ok? Ok.
