When Joanna Newsom isn’t laughing it up with funny-man fiancé Andy Samberg, she’s doing what she does best: being an accomplished musician. But it’s been awhile since she’s had a proper release and we’re still itching for a followup to 2010’s Have One On Me. In the meantime, we might be momentarily appeased with that new song she debuted live late last year and this dainty little cover of “The North Star Grassman and the Ravens”, originally released by English folk singer-songwriter, Sandy Denny, during the ’70s.
The cover’s accompanying video, directed by Maximilla Lukacs, was done for an upcoming fashion line from Melissa Coker’s label Wren and features Newsom, her harp, an owl and mother nature. Oh! and nice clothes, too. Watch it below.
