Has the official, full version of Daft Punk’s new single finally arrived? Earlier today, Edmonton radio station Sonic 102.9 posted a “radio edit” of “Get Lucky”. The track was pulled shortly thereafter, but now as Dancing Astronaut points out, a Dutch radio station just aired the same version on their airwaves. Listen/watch the replay below. has since posted a listing for “Get Lucky”, revealing the artwork you see above and a release date of April 19th. The track time for the radio edit is 4:08, which jives with the version posted below.

Update: According to MTV, a source has confirmed that the version aired on Dutch radio was indeed “the genuine radio edit of the single.”  The song will be available to download beginning at 12:01 AM ET on Friday.

Update – #2: The song is now available to purchase on iTunes.

Daft Punk’s new album Random Access Memories is due out May 21st through Columbia Records imprint Daft Life Limited. Pre-orders are ongoing.

Daft Punk fans are lunatics. I’ve never seen people care so much if a track was fake or not. And then be completely CRUSHED when they found out it was real and disown it. Jesus Christ people it’s just a song…and a pretty good one at that.

ripped off the cover art from US hard rock band Granicus’ 1973 self titled album.

April 19, 2013 at 2:09 pm

Yup…I’d say they were “inspired” but that cover haha.

The version on the radio sounded good, the version on youtube sounded bad. They were NOT the same thing. For one, the radio version had doubling on the vocals and a bit of delay, as well as the EQ, whereas the vocal in the youtube version that everyone complained about was completely unmixed.

I hope it’s fake. Because it’s a dud.

Yeah and MTV is relying on some unknown source that this is real. Watch the actual track get released tonight sound different from this. I’m dubious until the robots tell me its the real deal. Tonight is the night.

New verses are hell of compressed. Suspicious… but of course, I WANT TO BELIEVE.

April 18, 2013 at 2:33 am

Nice deceptive title here. The title is a statement and the first sentence of the post is a question about the same thing. Also, I believe it’s fake; the synth line used at 4:18 doesn’t sound very much like Daft Punk at all.

New Daft Punk and Ariel Pink collaboration on the Sky Sailor EP, epic.

Transitions are sketchy too… still sounds like an edit. Could be an elaborate fake with a Pharell impersonator? Wouldn’t that be interesting..

April 18, 2013 at 12:12 am

I really think this album with bring back DISCO properly.

April 18, 2013 at 12:11 am

He pays it twice. Now when has that happened in recent times. :)

heard it at coachella this is the real deal

April 17, 2013 at 8:48 pm

definitely fake, sounds flat, EQ is WAY off and sounds hella compressed, more than radio guy’s voice

so unbelievably fake. it sounds nothing like pharell. the waveform from that file looks like crap

April 19, 2013 at 11:01 am

great detective skills

April 17, 2013 at 8:39 pm

The thing that makes me think it’s fake is that there’s no intro to the song, it jumps straight into the loop. and the vocals are slightly off when it transitions from the “new verse” to the one we’ve seen previously. but hey maybe that’s how it’s meant to be

It’s a Radio Edit.

I want this to be real. It sounds amazing!

Luke Toomey
April 17, 2013 at 7:43 pm My suspicions of it being fake are driven by the fact the first 4 bars of the snippet in this collaborators video are missing throughout the radio edit… but then again its just a radio edit

that doesn’t really mean anything really; plenty of early cuts are different than album versions (Twin Shadow’s “Castles in the Snow”, Cut Copy’s “Where I’m Going”, MGMT’s “Electric Feel” and “Kids”, etc.). Tracks evolve as they go through the production process. I will agree that there really is no way to know if this is really the real track until it’s released on Friday, but yeah, it’s a radio edit, and the vocals sound pretty legit so I think it’s real. There hasn’t been any real concrete proof that it’s fake so I’m pretty convinced it’s at least 80% real. we shall see…

yeah i definitely think this is the real thing y’all. it makes sense that the single would be premiered (in Europe, mind you, of course) the same day it’s announced on Amazon. plus it just plain sounds real, not like those other loops and shit. it’s got verses, Pharrell on vocals, new instrumentation…this is it, yo.

Greg Urquhart
April 17, 2013 at 6:59 pm

Pharrell’s new verses sound a bit off…but cool if it’s real…can’t wait for the album…

April 18, 2013 at 3:25 pm

On the actual radio version they sounded fine

April 17, 2013 at 6:47 pm

Even though this is fake, it’s worth watching for this guy’s moves.

April 19, 2013 at 1:44 pm

How do you know it’s fake?

Peter Jansen
April 17, 2013 at 6:46 pm

Alex Young
April 17, 2013 at 6:22 pm

Where was it confirmed fake?

April 17, 2013 at 7:01 pm

Alex Young
April 17, 2013 at 7:02 pm

That doesn’t mean its fake.

Clay Levering

And wrong, it was the real radio edit. WOOP WOOP I love internet disbelievers sometimes.

Scottie Martin
April 17, 2013 at 7:06 pm

you mean your personal skepticism believes it to be fake, since it hasn’t been officially released by the label?

April 19, 2013 at 1:43 pm

How do you know?

April 19, 2013 at 1:43 pm

It was real. You were wrong. What facts were you checking?
