The Austin City Limits 2013 lineup isn’t due for another week, but one of this year’s headliners just couldn’t keep a secret. During a recent Q&A with Montreal radio station CHOM 97.7, Muse revealed that they’ll be heading back to Austin for their second headlining stint (the band previously performed in 2010).

The band already has a number of dates scheduled across Europe this summer, along with festival appearances at Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival and Brazil’s Rock in Rio, followed by a new leg of U.S. tour dates this fall. They’re still touring in support of last year’s album The 2nd Law.

Check Muse’s ACL revelation below (scroll to the 32:04 mark), along with the band’s most recent video for “Panic Station”.

Austin City Limits 2013 takes place over two weekends (Oct. 4-6 and Oct. 11-13) at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. Stay tuned to Consequence of Sound’s Festival Outlook for the latest lineup news and rumors in the lead up to the lineup announcement on May 7th.

Technically, it’s their third headlining stint at the fest. They first headlined/were a replacement headliner back in 2007 when The White Stripes dropped out.

Ah, ok. I was going strictly by announced headliner, but thanks for the heads up!
