Kevin Barnes and his band of Montreal have finished recording their 12th studio album titled Lousy with Sylvianbriar, which will be out sometime this fall. According to a post on the band’s Tumblr, the title was inspired by Sylvia Plath and the album has a real Gram Parsons/Grateful Dead/Neil Young feel to it this time around. Strange maybe, but longtime of Montreal fans should be familiar with Barnes’ propensity to flip the script on the band’s sound. Read his statement about about the record below (via Exclaim):

I’m so happy to say that we’ve just finished a new album! It is titled “lousy with sylvianbriar”. We recorded it in my home studio on a 24 track tape machine. It is pretty different from Paralytic Stalks. Definitely more G Parsons than K Penderecki this time around. I wrote most of the songs while on a self imposed isolation experiment in San Francisco earlier this year, and we recorded it, over a two week period, about a month after i got back to Athens. I was influenced by the poetry of Sylvia Plath (hence the reference in the title), plus artists like the Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Flying Burrito Brothers…I can’t wait to share it with you! It won’t come out until the Fall though so I just have to be patient.

Barnes also spoke about his time in San Francisco and production techniques with the Miami New Times earlier this week, saying, “It was very collaborative. We were all in the room together. We made it all on my tape machine in my home studio, so that was definitely different and special.”

We’ll let you know more information about the album as it becomes available.

Meanwhile, of Montreal kick off their latest U.S. tour next week.

Therefore, eat blueberries whenever you get a chance in any form you like. “Methylcobalamin is required for the function of the folate-dependent enzyme, methionine synthase. If you wish to get the highest possible concentration of antioxidants, pure cocoa beans, or cocoa supplements can be purchased for an affordable price.

Woah! I’m really enjoying thee template/theme
of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s
very hard too get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness annd
visual appearance. I must say you’ve done a superb job
with this. In addition, the blog loads super fast for me on Safari.
Outstanding Blog!
