Over the weekend, Stone Temple Pilots performed at MusiCares’ annual benefit concert in Los Angeles. Adding insult to injury for Scott Weiland, not only was STP fronted by new singer Chester Bennington, but Slash and Duff McKagan also sat in for a performance of David Bowie’s “All The Young Dudes”. Slash and McKagan were of course members of Velvet Revolver, another band Weiland was unceremoniously fired from.

Scott, your reaction, please?

It seems the worst kept secret in Rock, is Bowies either physical or mental health. Roger Daltry last week was interviewed and asked why Bowie doesn’t tour, he responded, “well his health, you know”, and then quickly said he wasn’t supposed to talk about it, and then Courtney Love also saying how sad the Bowie situation was, and again quickly added she wasn’t supposed to talk about it. Have a feeling the documentary this week in Briton, and all the covers of Bowie songs lately are a live memorial to the singer. Each day I keep waiting to hear bad news relating to him. Having no public appearances or interviews especially after releasing that bit of music in April definitely shows something is seriously wrong with Bowie.
