When Pearl Jam visits the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field on Friday night, they won’t just be entering Cubbyland. They’ll be in Consequence of Sound country, too. With our office only a Gossard’s throw away from the park, several CoS staffers will be clicking through the turnstiles and packing the grandstands to catch the biggest rock act of our generation.
So, purely for fun—and maybe with the selfish hope that a band member reads this prior to the gig—we thought we’d list 20 songs that we want to hear at Wrigley. We left off some obvious favorites like “Corduroy” and “Yellow Ledbetter” because we already know they’ll play those (you guys will play those, right? Promise?). The rationales behind these requests vary. Maybe the song fits Wrigley or Chicago in some way. Maybe there’s a personal connection there. Or maybe we just know best. Whichever the case may be, here’s our Wrigley Wishlist.
Oh. And, Eddie, Jeff, Mike, Stone, and Matt. Thanks in advance (wink).
