As The A.V. Club points out, W.K. has inked a deal with Simon & Schuster to publish The Party Bible, which the author describes as a tribute to his endless sea of “party friends” and the culmination of his “entire career as a professional partier.” While a due date is still in the works, the book will be accompanied by an audio version so you can read and party simultaneously.
In describing the book’s approach, Michael Szczerban, W.K.’s editor, said it’s an “unforgettable voyage in search of truth, wisdom, and party bliss,” and that, “in it, every feeling will be permitted, every thought will become prophecy, and humanity’s surging life force will be harnessed and ridden into the abyss.” So, essentially, it’ll be like the Dostoevsky or Thoreau for people who shotgun Natty Lite.
For a look into the book’s origins and W.K.’s, um, inspired writing process, check out a promotional trailer below. Let’s just say it makes William Faulkner’s drunken stupors look like a day in the park.
And speaking of partying, W.K.’s bound to get a few shindigs started as he continues touring the US this fall, including dates with Marky Ramone. Consult the full schedule below.
