It’s day four of Angel Haze’s “30 Gold” series, the lead-up to her Dirty Gold debut album. So far, the Brooklyn rapper has rapped over tracks from heavyweights Jay Z, Kanye West, and Drake, and today she’s borrowing beats from another young rap phenomn: Kendrick Lamar. Spitting over Lamar’s “Backseat Freestyle”, Haze remains as vicious as ever with lines like, “Angel got a dream (laughs) / Murder everything (laughs).” And while she’s still got a vile way with words (“Wasn’t making it easy / had to force my way in like sodomy”), she also shows a lot of literary wit (“Bitch now I’m at the top like apostrophe / Made you eat your words, hypothesis”). Check it out below.
Haze will be releasing one freestyle a day for 30 days as a precursor to Dirty Gold, due out later this year by Republic Records.
