Red Hot Chili Peppers to cover Led Zeppelin’s “Dazed and Confused” at the Super Bowl

on January 27, 2014, 7:33pm

Update: Is Chili Peppers pulling a fast one on us? As SPIN points out, Smith said they’d be playing a “live version” of “Dazed and Confused”, which could extend as long as 45 minutes.

This year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show features the unlikely paring of Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Whether their collaboration proves as successful as, say, Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons, remains to be seen, but they’re off to a good start: as Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith has revealed to Artisan News, they’ll be performing a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Dazed and Confused”, and not “Dani California”. #Phew.

Chili Peppers have never performed “Dazed and Confused” live before, however, they have previously covered Zeppelin’s “Ramble On”. Listen to a live recording of it below.

In related, much more disappointing news: Chili Peppers bassist Flea recent tweeted, “Anybody wanna see my c–k at the Super Bowl?”, but has since recanted his offer at the request of the NFL. He told TMZ, “they’d chop his head off”.

Wonderful blog! Do you have any recommendations for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m totally confused .. Any ideas? Cheers!

Um, he was obviously joking. The live version of that song is over 20 minutes long. You shouldn’t take every single that’s reported as gospel.

I’ve seen them quite a few times and their covers are usually right on point. Pretty excited!
