Of all the master thespians to star on American Horror Story, Lily Rabe has got to be the most spellbinding (though Michael Roffman would probably argue Tami Taylor as a close second). While usually cast as a second-tier or supporting character, she’s brought the horror with runs as mother-gone-mad Nora Montgomery (Murder House) and satanic nun Sister Mary Eunice (Asylum). This season, known as Coven, she plays the role of Misty Day, a crazed swamp witch desperately wanting to be Stevie Nicks circa Bella Donna.
Thus, last night’s episode got a bit meta when the actual Stevie Nicks appeared as a guest star. Aptly-titled “The Magical Delights of Stevie Nicks”, the episode saw the Fleetwood Mac singer play a fictionalized version of herself. While she doesn’t bust out any telekinesis or sweet fire spells, Nicks does cause Day to pass out upon their introduction (that’s definitely not gonna help her become Supreme), plus she performed Fleetwood Mac’s “Rihannon” for good measure. Watch magic’s Stevie Nicks meet the real-life Stevie Nicks over at Entertainment Weekly.
Update: Watch footage of her singing “Rihannon” (via Vulture):
And here she is singing “Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You?”:
