iTunes Festival coming to SXSW, Coldplay to headline

on February 19, 2014, 10:20am

For the last half decade, Apple has staged the iTunes Festival in London. It’s more of a concert series than a standalone music festival, featuring 30 headline caliber acts each performing a night at The Roundhouse. Now, Apple is bringing that concept to Austin for SXSW.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the five-night concert series will take place March 11th – 15th at ACL Live at the Moody Theatre, where Austin City Limits is also held. Performers include Coldplay, London Grammar, Imagine Dragons, Willie Nelson, Zedd, Pitbull, and Keith Ubran. Additional performers will be announced soon.

The concerts will also be streamed live online via iTunes.

This article was informative about the general details of the iTunes Festival. I have not heard about the lineup until I read this. The lineup sounds very good so far and there is even more to come. I also did not know that the concert will be streaming live online through iTunes, which is a very cool feature. Even though I will not be there, I am excited to watch it at home on my computer. I am specifically excited to see Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, and Zedd perform. It seems like there will be a lot of different types of music playing, so it should fit for almost everyone’s tastes. I am looking forward to watching the different performances of this festival.
