Animal Collective recently wrapped up an extensive world tour in support of their 2012 LP, Centipede Hz. Recently, singer Avey Tare announced plans for a solo album and it looks like Noah Lennonx, a.k.a. Panda Bear is following suit.

A new issue of Under the Radar (via Gorilla vs. Bear) reports that Lennox is again working with Sonic Boom, who helmed 2011’s Tomboy. Tentatively titled Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper, the new album is described as “break-centric” and influenced by hip-hop producer 9th wonder, featuring tracks “constructed out of samples of self-made sounds” and is “meant as a celebration of the fact that new growth sometimes requires death.”

Below, watch Panda Bear perform a new song at last year’s Pitchfork Festival Paris. In the near future, he’s set to appear at Austin Psych Fest and Sasquatch!’s Memorial Day Weekend festival.
