While Wilco’s music has been featured in countless TV shows, Jeff Tweedy’s never had his real turn in the actor’s seat. That is, until now. As Entertainment Weekly reports, the frontman will guest on an upcoming Season 6 episode of NBC’s Parks and Recreation.
Tweedy is set to play the former lead singer of Land Ho!, a band who was “very popular in Indiana a while back”, according to Michael Schur, the show’s executive producer. Schur went on to describe the episode’s premise: “Leslie (Amy Poehler) and Andy (Chris Pratt) are trying to convince him to reunite for the big Unity Concert they are organizing to solidify the merger of Pawnee and Eagleton.”
Sounds simple enough, right? But as is the case for the comedy and its silly, but good-hearted ensemble of government workers, problems like these are never easily solved, at least not without some chuckle-worthy, oftentimes outlandish, high jinks. The episode is scheduled to air in “early spring”.
