GWAR will hold a public memorial for frontman David Brockie, a.k.a. Odorous Urungus, set for August 15th at Hadad’s Lake in Richmond, VA. The memorial will coincide with the GWAR-B-Q, which will go on as planned on August 16th, also at Hasad’s Lake.

The lineup for this year’s GWAR-B-Q has not yet been announced. It’s unclear if GWAR themselves will perform, though Brockie’s bandmates have given indication they plan to continue on in his memory.

In an issued statement, GWAR’s manager Jim Flanagan said, as is standard protocol, medical examiners have taken a toxicology report, however, results can take one to three months to be processed. Brockie was founded dead in his Richmond, VA home on Sunday at the age of 50. Police have already ruled out foul play.

Funeral arrangements and a private memorial has been scheduled for Brockie’s family and close friends.
