Parquet Courts announce Record Store Day 7-inch, U.S. tour dates

on March 04, 2014, 4:35pm

Brooklyn punks Parquet Courts had a mightily impressive 2013: they started the year off by releasing their blitzing debut, Light Up Gold, spent months touring the world, and capped it all off with the entertaining Tally All the Things That You Broke EP.

Though we’re only just now into March, the band’s 2014 is looking equally promising. In January, they made their national television debut on Fallon. And for Record Store Day (April 19th), they’ll release a brand-new 7-inch featuring two tracks: “Sunbathing Animal” b/w “Pilgrims to Nowhere”. In anticipation, they’ve pulled a Beck and unveiled the sheet music for the A-side. There’s a case of Mallowbars for anyone who records and sends us a version posthaste:

The band has also announced new tour dates for May and June. Consult the full schedule below.

So, does all this activity mean a new album’s in the works? As a press release cryptically inquires, “Does a bear eat Swedish Fish in Ridgeway Queens?” We’ll take that as a solid yes.
