His solo project Split Single is releasing its debut album Fragmented World on April 1st via Inside Outside Records. Today, the release is streaming in full below (via SPIN).
With Spoon frontman Britt Daniel on bass and Narducy’s Superchunk and Bob Mould-bandmate Jon Wurster on drums, Split Single creates infectious and driving power-pop. On the LP, the songs back and forth between glistening, R.E.M.-channeling pop like “Last Goodbye” and “Fragmented World”, to frenetic, bass-heavy rockers like “Monolith” and “Made For Breaking”. According to SPIN, “much of Fragmented World actually comes from a place of darkness, [with] many of its lyrics inspired by Narducy losing both a close friend and a loved one in the years preceding its recording.” Listen in below.
