Watch: Arcade Fire covers Constantines’ “Young Lions”, Rob Ford makes cameo

on March 14, 2014, 11:22am

At their show in Toronto last night, Arcade Fire continued their trend of covering a local artist and displaying images of detested politicians. For the musical portion, the band went with a rendition of 2004’s “Young Lions” by a band Win Butler has long cited as one of his biggest influences, the recently reunited outfit Constantines. As for the political commentary, who else would they choose in Toronto but everyone’s favorite crack-smoking Mayor Rob Ford? Watch fan footage below, and fingers crossed for a “Hand in My Pocket” cover in Ottawa tonight.

If you missed it, Arcade Fire previously covered Prince’s “Controversy” in Minneapolis and Stevie Wonder’s “Uptight (Everything’s Alright)” in Michigan.

The song being covered in the “Rob Ford cameo” clip is “Ban Marriage,” by fellow Toronto band The Hidden Cameras.
