The World’s Fasted Released Record, a.k.a. Jack White’s “Lazaretto”, has finally been revealed. The new single, off White’s highly-anticipated album of the same name, was recorded, mastered, pressed, and sold in just three hours and 21 minutes during Record Store Day at Third Man Records’ Nashville headquarters.

Following the ferocious instrumental “High Ball Stepper”, “Lazaretto” sees White channeling a bit of ’70s funk rock, adding a new kind of oomph to his gritty blues formula.

Update: Listen to the studio version below.

Now this is impressive. When I heard he had done all the recording, mixing and distribution in one day, I was expecting a sort of minimalist production, you know, drums, guitar, bass, and not much more to it.

But wow, when those violins kick in. Now that’s an impressive piece of work, and in that time span it’s even more impressive. White is one of the best musicians, producers and music industry bussiness men out there. Nothing but kudos and respect from here. This man is awesome!
